The ATEA NV subsidiary of Siemens AG and Philips NV’s MBLE NV have been awarded the $13m contract to replace the Regie des Telegraphes & des Telephones’s cellular telephone system with a digital cellular system by mid-1991: the present mobile system has just 25,000 subscribers.
