AT&E Corp, San Francisco says that it has now successfully demonstrated its Receptor wristwatch terminal at its annual shareholders meeting. The Receptor Messagewatch is the result of a global development effort involving AT&E, Hattori Seiko Co Ltd of Japan, Tektronix Inc, and Plessey Semiconductors Ltd, which is doing the key CMOS components. The Mess agewatch currently receives, stores and displays a variety of messages, including Call Home, Call Office and call any telephone number designated by the caller. Using proprietary AT&E technology, it automatically scans FM radio frequencies anywhere in the world for messages, so that it will be able to serve subscribers on a local, regional, national and international level. Battery life is expected to be about one year – and the thing does work as a watch.
