Atlanta, Georgia-based Advanced Telecommunications Corp has unveiled plans for a virtual private network service aimed at medium to large business users with heavy intracompany calling to remote locations: Advanced will also market the new service as a supplement to add diversity and system redundancy to private line networks of competitive carriers; it will offer a range of access methods, and incorporate a range of value-added features including customer defined dialling plans, authorisation codes, and billing options to cover departmental and location accounting; to be available this autumn, the service went into testing earlier this year at a large multi-location distribution business in the southeastern part of the US.
