ATARI TO BUILD THE COMPANY’S OWN RAM PLANT OUTSIDE THE US

Much of what he put in place is now gone, but Jack Tramiel’s aim at Commodore International Ltd was to make the company as vertically integrated and self-sufficient as possible – and he now plans to do the same for hispresent charge, Atari Corp: frustrated at the way the memory chip shortage has crimped Atari’s growth this year, he says he plans to build the company’s own dynamic RAM plant – not in the US but somewhere where costs are lower – for completion within two years.
