Atari Corp, which was saying last year that it would make 500,000 of its 64-bit Jaguar games machines this year, has now scaled that back to 300,000, and now says only that a majority of the 1994 production will be manufactured by IBM Corp at its Charlotte, North Carolina base – last year it announced a $500m three-year agreement for IBM to make the things. Atari has also signed Time Warner Inc’s coin-operated game division to use the Jaguar’s 64-bit engine in Time Warner Interactive arcade games with software titles it develops being available for the home machines as well.
