Sunnyvale, California-based Atari Corp says it plans to ship 50,000 of its new 64-bit Jaguar video games systems, which use a television as the display, in time for the Christmas selling season, president Sam Tramiel said: as reported, the machine is being built for Atari by IBM Corp, and will be launched initially in the New York and San Francisco markets, backed by a $3m advertising campaign; it will be marketed US-wide in 1994, he said, adding that Atari has been conserving cash and now has some $40m in the bank to fund the Jaguar launch.
