Investment interest is increasing in Capita Group Plc following news of the success of its Collection Management service for local authorities trying to chase up late or delinquent Community Charge payers: the automatic dialling system is run from Reading and has 24 telephonists steadily phoning defaulters from 9am to 9pm; the system is said to have trawled in large amounts of cash for the 15 hard-pressed local authorities already using the service and many others are interested.
