Asymetrix Learning Systems Inc has filed for an initial public offering on Nasdaq. The online training software company that used to be called Asymetrix Corp, which was started by Paul Allen back in 1984, only launched its first major product, Librarian, in January. The other part of Asymetrix was spun out last year SuperCede Inc, named after the Java compiler that is its main product. There is no target price or date set for the offering, which is underwritten by NationsBanc Montgomery Securities LLC, BancAmerica Robertson Stephens and Hambrecht & Quist LLC.
