Advanced Logic Research Inc, Irvine, California claims that its VIP SX386 is the first 80386SX-based computer to include cache memory: it has an intelligent five-slot backplane housing a serial port and circuitry for the floppy and hard disk controllers, and is said to be 40% smaller than Compaq Computer’s Deskpro 386S, measuring just 4.5 by 7 by 15; no prices given.
