The Japanese subsidiary of the Irvine, California company, AST Research Japan, has announced availability of an Intel 80486DX2/50-based personal computer incorporating Western Digital Corp’s Premium VGA graphics accelerator with a screen resolution of 1,024 by 768 pixels; the system is sold in the English version only, but price is similar to NEC Corp’s new models – $4,220 for a 80Mb model.
