AstraTek Inc, of New York City, used Networld+Interop to preview Visual LAN Probe for Sybase, a design and debugging tool used in Sybase client-server network development. Using frame recognition technology, Visual LAN Probe decodes network frames into Sybase SQL application programming interface calls. At the exposition, AstraTek demonstrated how Visual LAN Probe analyzes the network stack from the datalink layer to the application layer, showing SQL application programming interface calls in the programmer’s own languages. Visual LAN Probe packages start at a $1,000 recommended retail price for a single license. Multiple license packages are also available but no pricing was given. Customer shipments are set to begin next month.
