The AST Research Japan subsidiary of the Irvine, California company has announced an expansion in the number of its dealers around Japan to 60, and will link with maintenance and marketing companies to provide all-round service: its main target markets are software companies developing for the overseas market, and subsidiaries of US companies operating in Japan; it will also offer its volume resellers machines with the DOS/V bilingual operating system from IBM Japan Ltd pre-loaded; it also plans to bring its colour notebook computer and its 80486-based server to Japan.
