AST PLAN NEW JOBS IN EIRE

Ireland’s Industrial Development Authority has won a commitment from AST Research Inc to create a total of 600 jobs over three years as part of the terms for its subsidy for the company to move into what is the old Wang Laboratories Inc plant in Limerick (CI No 2,294); the total investment is put at about UKP12.4m, although the sum being put up by Dublin was not revealed; Wang will be relocating its few remaining operations in Limerick to a small corner of the site.
