According to Newsbytes, AST Research was the largest computer advertiser in the press in the fourth quarter of 1987, spending an estimated $1.6m on 164 pages in 14 magazines, followed by Borland International with $1.4m – and the biggest beneficiary was Macworld, which came in with 407 pages of ads in the last three months of 1987.
