By CBR Staff Writer

Desktop asset management software house Tally Systems Corp has acquired Watertown, Massachusetts-based Baranhof Software Inc, a company providing communications management and network monitoring software. Terms were not disclosed. Tally, based in Hanover, New Hampshire, will combine Baranof’s Check product line with its own Veranda Enterprise Messaging Reporter tools. The combined companies will address what they call the end-user computing resource management market. Tally’s desktop asset management tools are installed on around 4 million PCs at 8,500 client sites. Baranhof software is used at around 3,000 client sites. Privately held Tally has 120 employees and was founded in 1990.
