ASR DEVELOPS GRAPHICS PROCESSING EXPANSION BOARD FOR THE MACINTOSH II

Peripherals manufacturer ASR International Inc has developed and begun marketing a graphics processing expansion board for the Apple Computer Inc Macintosh II: called Color Capture, the board is designed to extract graphic data from colour video pictures and process the images; the data is extracted in a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels, the board has a palette of 30,000 colours, and ASR sees the system being used in the discrimination of faulty products from a series running on a conveyor belt; the board costs around $5,500, and will be sold mainly by Mac distributors.
