ASPEN SEMICONDUCTOR, MATRA HARRIS MAKE R&D AGREEMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Aspen Semiconductor Corp have joined forces in a research and development agreement with the Franco-American Matra-Harris Semiconducteurs SA joint venture: Matra-Harris will help fund Aspen Semiconductor’s development of several ultra high speed ECL circuits; Aspen was organised in February as subsidiary of Cypress, chartered to design, develop and market ECL parts with access times better than 3nS, and will adapt many of the features of Cypress’ sub-micron CMOS processing to its bipolar manufacturing process in order manufacture the parts; Matra-Harris looks forward to processing the parts on its new 1.5 micron, full stepper, 5 class 10 wafer fab in the second half 1989.
