Aspective Ltd is launching a hosted application service that will enable mid-market users to access CRM applications over a mobile phone. Staines, UK-based Aspective’s Enterprise and Rapide managed services offer mobile communications extensions to Siebel and Broadvision products for front-office sales automation and e-commerce database marketing.

Aspective’s wireless application service provider (WASP), currently being demonstrated using a Nokia WAP (wireless application protocol) server, will be ready in the third quarter. The company believes it has a year’s headstart in Europe on US ASPs such as USinternetworking and Corio and plans to reach 12m pounds ($19.3m) revenue in two years. It expects to sign up 20 mid-market customers in the first year, 80 by year two and 200 in the third year. Aspective will target financial services, high-tech and distributed organizations such as travel and leisure. The hosted service will run from data centers in London’s Docklands owned by UUNet.

The Enterprise package, priced at 25,000 pounds per month ($40,300), includes either 75 Siebel user licenses or Broadvision software with space for 10,000 customer profiles. A combination of the two costs 50,000 ($80,600). Rapide is aimed at smaller companies and has a deployment time of 60 days but has poor scalability for more than 500 users. It costs between 100 and 150 pounds per user per month.
