Mountain View, California-based Ask Computer Systems Inc is ready with Release 7.0 of the MaxCIM information management system, and has introduced the new Purchase Requisition module for the system: the company says that the new release marks the beginning of a co-operative development effort between ASK and Digital Equipment Corp to bring the technical enhancements used in DEC’s own Class A manufacturing facilities to MaxCIM users that have VAX computer systems; enhancements in Release 7.0 provide more accurate requirements planning through daily bucketed material requirements planning that now perform all calculations on a daily basis for more accurate lead time and inventory levels; and the data management system has been upgraded to improve performance, flexibility and system security, the company says; MaxCIM 7.0 is available now and costs from $41,500 depending upon the configuration; the Purchase Requisition module, available in November, is priced from $3,000.
