Santa Clara, California-based Ask Group Inc has apppointed Paul Ely Jr chairman and Robert Waterman Jr vice-chairman with Eric Carlson the new president and chief executive; chief financial and administrative officer Leslie Wright also resigned; Ely, 62, has been a director of Ask since 1989 and is a partner with venture capital firm Alpha Partners, and was head of Convergent Inc when Unisys Corp acquired the company, staying on for a year or so as Unisys’s Mr Unix; he had previously been with Hewlett-Packard Co and left when he was passed over for the top job at the firm.
