All the papers are now picking up on the mass exodus from Ask Group Inc in the wake of the Computer Associates International Inc acquisition, with the New York Times reporting that about 100 Ask employees have quit over what they claim is a difference of cultures, some telling the paper they were resigning because Computer Associates was refusing to continue ASK’s policy of extending employee benefits to unmarried domestic partners, others said they were resigning because Computer Associates wanted employees to agree not to go and work for a competitor until a year after leaving the company; about 150 employees were also laid off as a result of the acquisition; before the deal, Ask employed 600.
