The acquisition by Mountain View, California-based Ask Computer Systems Inc of Ingres Corp is not going to be without pain, and the company announced that it will this week cut the combined workforce by 270 positions or about 12%. The company says that the reductions are primarily to eliminate duplicated functions at the two companies.
