The vultures have put one over on Ask Computer Systems Inc: it has reached agreement to settle the 1985 class action lawsuit related to a stock offering and will pay up to $5.5m into a settlement fund with its liability insurer contributing an equal amount; it has restated its figures for the fourth fiscal quarter ending June 30 to reflect the charge; about $4m to $4.25m of the settlement fund will go to the plaintiffs’ attorneys for fees and expenses and for the costs of administering the settlement fund, the company adds bitterly.
