ASIASAT 1 HEADS FOR THE SKIES

AsiaSat 1 took the long march to the skies on China’s Long March III rocket on Saturday: the satellite is jointly owned by Cable & Wireless Plc, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd and China International Trust & Investment Co, and is intended to provide both telecommunications links and television across Asia.
