Beijing, China-based Red Flag will take a 50% stake in the new AsiaNux Corp, which will commence operations in April according to reports based on a Haansoft regulatory filing, with Tokyo, Japan-based Miracle Linux and Seoul, South Korea-based Haansoft taking 25% each.

Red Flag and Miracle Linux created the Asianux distribution in January 2004, with Haansoft joining in October 2004, to jointly developed Asianux as the core platform for their Linux products.

The three companies released version 2.0 of Asianux at the end of August 2005, building on an estimated 30,000 shipments of version 1.0. The technology is distributed in the form of Red Flag DC Server 5.0, Miracle Linux v4.0, and Haansoft Linux 2006 Server and Server 64.

Plans to create an Asianux company via a joint venture were first revealed in September 2005 with India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam named as core targets for expansion.
