ASIAN CD-ROM MAKERS HIGHLIGHT MANUFACTURING TREND

By CBR Staff Writer

Several Taiwanese CD-ROM manufacturers have relocated manufacturing plants to China in an effort to lower production costs. The Commercial Times reports that Lite-on Technology Corp, Behavior Tech Computer Corp and Pan International Industrial Corp are among the firms moving to the People’s Republic. As high tech manufacturing facilities and skills increase in China, it is likely that the lower labor costs and government incentives will attract more companies to the country. The Taiwanese firms will retain R&D facilities in their homeland.
