Ashton-Tate Corp says that ahead of its acquisition of Borland International Inc, its announcement may impact future sales and earnings to the extent that customers await the completion of the transaction and says it may decide to take further actions to increase its efficiency and productivity, including appropriate workforce reductions and facilities consolidation and that this is likely to lead to substantial provisions to be taken with its figures for the current quarter.
