Ashton-Tate Corp has bought the 49% of Interbase Software Corp it did not already own, on undisclosed terms. The Bedford, Massachusetts company’s eponymous product is a relational database that runs on Data General, DEC, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics machines. The company also invented the BLOB – Basic Large Object – for storage of complex data. The company employs 65 people.
