Ascom, the Swiss telecommunications and service automation group, is to acquire a 60% share in Canadian multimedia systems designer and manufacturer King Products Inc, via its French subsidiary Ascom Monetel SA, for the equivalent of $8.5m. The acquisition also represents the beginning of a collaborative effort between Ascom and King to develop multimedia products.
