Proteon Inc-owned OpenRoute Networks Inc has teamed up in a joint agreement with Ascend Communications Inc that will see Ascend licensing software from OpenRoute. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but it is known that Ascend will have access to elements of OpenRoute’s Internetworking code that runs on some 100,000 routers around the world.
