ASAHI TO MARKET HARRIS’ CX SERIES OF UNIX MINIS IN JAPAN

Harris Corp has signed Asahi Optical Industries to market its CX series of Unix minicomputers in Japan: the camera company will pitch the machines against the DEC VAX line, pointing out that they offer up to twice the price-performance of VAXes of comparable power, and is looking to sell 36 machines, worth $15m, in the first year of marketing.
