ASAHI TO BUY OUT THE 50.5% MAJORITY IN ITS PHONE-MATE AFFILIATE

Asahi Corp of Japan is seeking to buy out the 50.5% majority in its Phone-Mate Inc affiliate for $6.50 a share, $7.1m all told: Phone-Mate makes telephones, answering machines and other telecommunications equipment in Torrance, California.
