Meantime on Sunday, Viacom Inc, the company whose bid for Paramount Communications Inc is recommended by the target, increased its offer to match the $80 a share cash tender for 51% launched by QVC Network Inc on Thursday (CI No 2,282). The offer is conditional on Viacom getting acceptances for 51%. Paramount holders are expected to sit on their hands and accept neither offer, waiting for still more.
