Sun Microsystems Inc’s SunSelect is trying to clear up the confusion it says surrounds the status of Wabi, denying reports that it needs pieces of Windows code or an MS-DOS emulator to run Windows applications under Unix. It says that Paradox and PowerPoint, two of the 14 Windows applications Wabi will initially run, do not have Dynamic Data Exchange or Object Linking & Embedding embedded in their code. However, they can borrow those features from other Windows applications running along side. If they are the only Windows applications being run, they don’t need the Dynamic Data Exchange or Object Linking at all. Wabi, currently in beta test, does not need Windows, it maintains.
