AS IT TEAMS UP WITH VIDEOCART TO DEVELOP SHOPPING TROLLEY SYSTEM

Chicago-based Videocart Inc is linking up with IBM and databases Information Resources Inc to develop electronic shopping cart advertising technology. The deal calls for IBM to help design and make at least 120,000 units for shopping trolleys with delivery starting this autumn. IBM will also develop software for applications such as on-the-spot electronic discount coupons. In return IBM gets a warrant to buy 175,000 shares in VideoCart and Information will pay VideoCart $1m for to scanner data.
