…AS IT STARTS FLASH IN JAPAN…

Intel Corp says it plans to start volume production of Flash memory chips this autumn at Japanese subcontractors Nippon Steel Semiconductor Corp and Sharp Corp. Intel’s overall output of Flash memory chips, including the contributions from the Japanese foundries, will more than double this year to 35m parts. It will also increase output on a new line at Albuquerque.
