Unix Labs’ official announcement of Destiny, meanwhile, has been put back to June. Insiders say the software, now in early beta test, could have been announced with a big bang in April but that Unix Labs together with public relations house Regis McKenna, hired especially for the launch, have opted to ease it out instead, smoothing the way with one-on-ones with analysts. Unix Labs is also said to have set its Destiny royalties at a level that will enable its customers to sell it for under $500. What their pricing in turn will be depends on how much margin they want and whether they will price it against Microsoft Corp’s Windows New Technology.
