@T Seiko Epson Co is transferring production of its Equity III+ AT-alike to its plant in Portland, Oregon, currently producing printers, to get round the punitive US import tariffs on Japanese micros. Epson will initally make 4,000 per month, expanding staff to 240 from 200. It sells 10,000 Equities a month; the II+ and I+ are made in Korea and thus not liable for the duty.
