Meantime another Norsk Data spin-off, Dolphin Server Technology A/S, building Unix servers around the 88000 RISC, is on the brink. The Oslo company has ceased payments to creditors and made all its 55 employees redundant after running out of cash. The company is now trying to reorganise and is in talks with partners on new co-operation or shareholdings. It is presently owned by Yorkdale of Brazil, Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG and Nordic Data A/S. The company hopes to re-hire laid off employees once it is back on an even keel. It lost $2.2m last year, and accumulated losses were put at $13.3m between 1990 and 1992. It did $7.6m turnover in the 10 months to October, mainly thanks to a contract with Banco de Bradesco of Brazil. According to Aftenposten, Comma Data Service A/S is continuing to support all Dolphin Server users.
