AS/400 USERS EXERCISED BY THE LACK OF DECENT TAPE DRIVE

Why are AS/400 users so exercised by the lack of a decent tape drive? We could all explain the problem, but David Andrews, president of Chesham, Connecticut consultancy ADM Inc puts it better: With a big system, you want to take a picture of your disks each night to be safe, he told the Wall Street Journal, but if your tape drive is too slow, you can run out of night before you get the picture taken.
