The other downside is that the new machine really is intended to be the Last of the Mohicans: it is not upgradable up the AS/400 line and System/36 users, few of whom have much spare cash lying around for buying new computers, are the last people to look happily on the idea of having to buy a complete new machine when they run out of steam or get seduced by OS/400.
