The networking gear maker posted a $3.35m, or 4-cent-a-share, loss for its fourth fiscal quarter compared to $1.45m, or 11 cents, last year. The per-share loss was markedly lower because there was a significant increase in the number of shares outstanding.
The Sunnyvale-based company grew revenue to $41.7m from $23.9m a year ago. This beat average analyst estimates of $40m. Sales and marketing costs, however, doubled to $20.9m.
Aruba shares fell more than 4.5% to close at $19.60 on the Nasdaq yesterday. They dropped another 5% to $18.55 in after-hours trading, following news that the company was being sued by Motorola for alleged patent infringement.
