Aruba Networks has rolled out a new dual-radio AP-105 802.11n Access Point which is expected to increase adoption of 802.11n by offering security, high throughput, streaming video support, and other new features.

According to Aruba, the AP-105 features include: dual radio, 2×2 MIMO design to deliver up to 300Mbps per radio; integrated antennas to support both wall and ceiling mounting; 802.3af PoE for simplified installation; and software reconfiguration to allow repurposing for connectivity, mesh, intrusion sensor, and remote access applications.

Other features include: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to securely store network credentials and cipher keys to protect network integrity; and Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) to enhance performance by managing client behaviour. It is priced at $695.

Keerti Melkote, co-founder and chief technical officer of Aruba, said: The AP-105 targets customers in need of wire-like performance, a rich feature set, lifetime warranty, and very competitive pricing.”

Aruba has also reduced the US list price of its 3×3 MIMO AP-124 and AP-125 802.11n Access Points to $995. Both access points feature operation over 803.2af Power over Ethernet (PoE), dual gigabit ethernet ports with Secure Jack access control, high throughput rates over long ranges, and FIPS 140-2 validation.
