Basingstoke, Hampshire-based Peacock Computer Ltd has launched a cordless office telecommunications system, the Peacock RTS 12-50. Consisting of a cordless controller and remote radio unit, it can be attached directly to exchange lines and used as a stand-alone facility, says Peacock. The product is said to offer 12 incoming lines and can handle up to 50 cordless handset extensions, including 16 extensions for facsimile or answering machines. The system uses an artificial intelligence-based program, developed by Peacock, said to manage calls and automatically improve service the more it is used by learning the position of each radio base-station relative to others and building up a profile of each handset’s use by learning where it is during any given call. The RTS 12-50 system is based on CT2 technology with the Common Air Interface standard and was developed in conjunction with Motorola Inc. No prices were given.
