Even man’s so-called best friend is being affected by the electronic age and scientists have said that trials of the first mechanical sheepdog are expected to go ahead within a matter of weeks. The dogs will have artificial intelligence to reduce the stress farm animals suffer from being herded. The Daily Telegraph newspaper reports that at the same time researchers at Sony Corp in Japan have unveiled a robot pet dog for children, which it hopes will be a hygienic alternative to the real thing!
