Advanced RISC Machines Ltd (ARM) has become the latest company to license Corvallis, Oregon-based Rogue Wave’s implementation of the Standard C++ Library. According to ARM, Rogue Wave has good object-oriented technology and the library enhances their existing software development tools. Rogue Wave’s Standard C++ Library will be bundled with a C++ compiler available from ARM later this year. The ARM Software Development Toolkit 2.0 for Windows 95 was recently released, and the company says it is working on modeling tools and tools for compression and communication protocols, in addition to the compiler. ARM joins a growing list of C++ compiler vendors who have licensed the technology from Rogue Wave, including SunSoft Inc, Hewlett Packard Co, Silicon Graphics Inc, and Digital Equipment Corp.
