ARM Holdings Plc, the Cambridge, UK-based Risc chip designer, is on the verge of announcing an exclusive distribution deal for the German market with MSC Vertriebs GmbH from Stutensee, near Karlsruhe, according to a report in the newspaper Handelsblatt. An ARM official would offer no comment on the story. According to the report, the main idea behind the deal is to get ARM designs into control systems for automobile devices such as airbags and on-board computers.
