According to the companies, this value-added reseller (VAR) agreement will enable Federal Edge to sell Arkeia’s network and server backup and recovery software product lines, providing government agencies with a mechanism to purchase the technology for Linux and UNIX environments.

Arkeia Network Backup features 64-bit Linux support for Intel Itanium 2 and support of Kernel 2.6 Linux distributions. The company also offers an integrated program for open databases and applications such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2 and Microsoft Exchange. The Server Backup features support for tape autoloaders, allowing fully automatic backup of high-volume servers. It is compatible with all major tape devices on the market as well as numerous tape media technologies.
