ARIZONA CORPORATE COMMISSION TO CUT US WEST’S TELEPHONE RATES IN ARIZONA

By CBR Staff Writer

And the Arizona Corporate Commission in Phoenix voted to cut US West Inc’s telephone rates in Arizona by $33.4m on an interim basis from March 1: the rate reduction represents half of the $66.8m rate cut recommended by the Commission, which says a permanent rate review is scheduled to begin May 15; the cut is needed because of lower tax and interest rates, staff cuts and the introduction of new services.
