Argo Interactive Plc said yesterday that its Actigate HTML-to-WML translation software is to support call me buttons based on technology from RealCall Ltd. Actigate is server-side software for Wireless Application Protocol service providers that automates the translation of HTML web sites into Wireless Markup Language pages. Argo says that integrating the RealCall technology will allow e-commerce sites to increase sales by providing voice callback confirmation of orders, as well as human support, although not simultaneous with web-browsing. Actigate is due to go to trial with two of the UK’s four mobile operators shortly, and sites to be offered include hotel booking and gift shops.
